When I was younger, I couldn’t understand how a person could stay in the same position, drive the same car and live in the same house for 20 years. To me, a person like that was playing it safe and allowing life to pass them by. I knew life had so much more to offer. So, I guess I’ve always been open to change.
However, as I’ve gotten older, I realize the difference to being open to something and actually living that thing that you’re open to. Now, I understand how change sometimes, ugh…well, sucks!!! Change is hard. It is not for the faint of heart. It takes you out of your comfort zone, away from what you’re accustomed and to some places that you don’t want to go (or in my case, never wanted to return to.)
Change also requires faith; not the George Michael type of faith. The Abraham type of faith. The trust and belief in God that no matter where you want to go, what you want to do and how you want to do it; His plan is better.
So, if you’re going through change, like I am. If you’re in a place you don’t want to be, I challenge you to embrace it. I challenge you to accept the fact that God’s plan for your life will leave you more satisfied and fulfilled than you ever imagined.
And in the meantime, if you’re not going through change, I leave you the infamous words of Sam Cooke, “A Change is Gonna Come.” So get ready!!!!
